We want our proposals to be embedded in strong community partnerships and to deliver a package of benefits unique to the residents of Reading.
Community Space and Garden
We are actively working towards long-term partnerships with local organisations to support meaningful use of the community space and garden. Plans include a community food-growing initiative, as well as a programme of activities for educational and social benefit operated by local groups. The development will include a dedicated community space for local organisations to host activities and events. This space has been thoughtfully relocated next to the expanded garden, creating opportunities for greater community interaction in a vibrant, green setting.
We will continue to engage with these groups over the course of the next few months as we develop short, medium and long term initiatives which our new rental community in Reading can play a central role in. This extends towards an outreach programme supporting Reading University and local schools.
